Story: Slayer Of Aeos | SOL Book 1

“All hail the King of Xesos, Slayer of Aeos, Master of Realms, the Quest Saver, wielder of the Sword Of Void, ruler of the Aeus and Xesos realm, King Zenith!”. I am Zenith Lightstone and this is my story. Let me start from the beginning where there was a world called Scalos. Scalos was divided into two territories, The Xeno Empire and The Soslis Empire. Soslis was a dark place filled with hatred, annoyance, revenge, greediness, and murder. It had a whopping population of twenty-three million people, but I don’t know why people would even live there. Their leader, Soslis ll, was a horrible person. He had committed uncountable crimes. While on the other hand, Xeno was an amazing place to live. It had colorful, beautiful, and fragrant gardens littered on the lands, where impossibly high skyscrapers towered against the land, where people were filled with kindness and happiness, and where I, Zenith Lightstone, was born.

I lived in the suburbs of Xeno where the beauty of the landscapes is unimaginable. I had a family of four including myself, my sister Anna, my mom Selena, and my dad Fredrick. We owned a giant mansion at the end of Applenine Ct. I was twelve years old, had light brown hair, had thick universe black eyes with bright yellow and green speckles lacing them. That one cold evening, I was reading a book in my room when I heard a loud crash coming from our Backyard. I yelped, ‘Ahhhh what can that loud crash be?’ My sister, Anna, rushed into my room frantically and yelled, “What the hell was that?” I instantly whispered in fear, “I don’t know, let's check it out.” My sister being only 7 with my light brown hair, and shivering green eyes, started crying, “Mom and Dad are not even home. Why did they have to go to the Council party today?!” I went to my sister and cleaned her up.

After, we quietly started to usher ourselves to our humongous backyard. We reached there and peaked out while sliding our velvet green curtains slowly. Then, we saw a colossal cube blazing with light, sea blue fire. It had strange markings on it like ‘Το ξίφος του κενού’. We just sat there quietly with pin-drop silence thinking, “What is that? Is it an alien spaceship? No that can’t be.” Then she started wailing again, interrupting my thoughts. I told her with an awful lot of seriousness, “Stay here while I go check that big piece of space junk out.” My sister instantly started to laugh hysterically. While I approached the ‘big piece of space junk’, I thought, “What in the world can that be?” As I got closer, I touched the cube and then yelled in pain, “Darn that's blazing hot!”

Then the cube opened and a mystical, but deep and ancient voice spilled out, “You Zenith Lightstone has been chosen to wield the Sword of Void to defeat the evil that is to arise and for you young Anna, shall be given the Sword Of X-Nes.” With that we both fainted. I then woke up suddenly and yelled, “Sis where are you?” She weakly replied, “Here.” I got up and saw a shiny bright yellow-gold ring with a dark universe black ruby attached on the top. It was on my finger snuggled tightly. I thought, “I’ll deal with that later. First let me get to my sister”. When I reached there I saw my sister with a similar ring but with a light forest green ruby. I asked her, “Are you ok?” Anna replied, “Yes brother.” Then I uttered, “Sword of Void”. Then a dark black sword appeared in my hand. It had a gold handle and an immensely dark blue upper. It also had intricate designs on the top. It had the same ruby stuck in the middle wanting to go to action. My sister said surprised, “How did you do that?” I just shrugged. Then she tried it, with her Sword Of X-Nes. It was the exact same thing, but with her ruby of course.

Then a large voice from overhead said, “People of Xeno, the Soslises have declared war. Report to the Emergency War Evacuation center immediately. This is an ORDER NOT A REQUEST. Any children or anyone alone, report to the center, you will find your associates and family there. Emergency alert.” My sister, again, started crying for the third time today, hysterically, “Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! L-lets g-go.” I then told her, “No. We are not going. I know what that cube voice meant. We have to save the world from destruction.” Upon saying that I realized that the cube was not anywhere to be seen. There was just simply thick, gray and foul smelling fog. Then a humanoid figure stepped out of the fog with another humanoid. . “They had pink skin? “No, I thought. “They have pinkish-red skin.” My sister stopped crying and asked dubiously, “Who are you?” They replied with the thickest and deepest voice I had ever heard, “We are the Guardians of The Order Of The Eaos Swords. We are here to guide you to finish your quest.” “Quest?”, me and my sister echoed. They replied, “Oh, we are deeply sorry that we forgot to give you information about your quest. You know the basic stuff like you need to defeat evil with that sword right?” “Yes of course” we replied in sync. “Good” the tall one replied. One was very tall and the other was average. The taller one said, “I, the longer one is Ceva” (C * Va). “I, the shorter one in Beyta. So, now let us tell you the basics of questing, then what you have to do, and then lastly the history of evil you will be fighting. Each quest has a name. Your quest’s name will be Νικώντας τον Αίος or Defeating Aeos. You have to fight Soslis’s army as well as the real threat, Aeos. He is the second strongest being in the universe. Aeos can only be defeated by The Sword Of Void. He is the evilest being in the cosmos. While young Anna’s sword can defeat anyone lower than Chaos and Aeos. Chaos is the strongest/creator of in the universe.”

Me and Anna just sat there staring at them and trying to process what happened. Then we replied, “Um… Ok but how do we do it, well most importantly how do we get there?” Beyta replied, “Right now Aeos is in the Aeus Realm, his domain. It will be unwise to go there. So first all of us have to finish Soslis. Here is a reminder, as you have seen, our primary language is Greek, so many things will be said/written in Greek” . “Ok”, we said blankly. “Good.” they replied. “Now it is time to harness your powers. Repeat after me, ok?” “Ok” we replied in unison. Ceva enchanted, “ I shall embed my powers from my jewel of heart thus wielding its power indefinite(ly)!” Me and Anna both repeated the lines and almost instantly felt raw power coursing through our veins. Then we both fell down due to an intense amount of pain and then everything darkened. After what seemed like hours, I woke up and felt a throbbing pain in my forehead.

When I looked around I was in an unknown place or room I should say. It was majestic. There were bright red velvet carpets and a giant king sized bed with white blankets draped over. Then I snapped out of my trance and thought, “Where in the world is Anna?” Then I looked beside me and saw her sleeping next to me peacefully. After a mental debate I decided not to break her sleep. I then opened the door and froze. It was as beautiful as heaven. I drowned in a sea of awe. Just then Ceva and Beyta popped out with something in their hand, it’s aroma smelt like cheese pizza. “Ymmm” I thought. They sacked, “Here is some food for you to eat and then meet me down the hall in twenty minutes” “Sure. But one question.” “Yes...” “Will this quest be dangerous?” “Of Course, my boy. It is a matter of life and death for the whole universe! ”

Just then Anna opened the door and saw the cheese pizza. She immediately devoured half of it. Then I stopped her and said, “Come on you food assassin. Give me some of that marvelous pizza.” After two hours we had devised a plan. The Chaotic Army would rush in and distract all forces. Then me and Anna would go kill Aeos who had reached this realm. I thought panicky, “Oh no, Aeos is here already!” As if reading my mind, Byta said sadly, “Yes Zenith. Aeos has arrived. The good news is that we are receiving help from the Págos Realm.” “What is the Pagos realm?‘ I frowned. Ceva casually said, “The Ice realm. Remember boy, Greek is our primary language. So learn it” I replied shyly, “Um when exactly?” He ignored me and gestured to us to come inside in their teleporter. When he clicked the button, I felt as if I was disintegrating. I felt as nauseous seeing someone eating cockroaches while I myself was eating pizza. My sister yelled, “O my God, what is this!?” I replied rushedly, “Trust me. I have NO IDEA!!” Just then, as if it had been preplanned, everything stopped moving and we were in the middle of the throne room.

We all realized that everybody had seen us including Aeos and Soslis. We quickly remade the plan. Beyta said, “Zenith, fight Aeos. Anna fights Soslis. We and the Chaotic army and Pagos army will fight everyone else. Got it? No questions, just go.” My sword then started commanding me and whispered in an insanely ancient and bored thick voice, “I will control you in battle. I am Void. The Primordial being of the Void.” I then replied with immense surprise, “Ok. my bow to you.” “Shut up. I DO NOT LIKE THAT.” A simple okay was all he got. I saw Aeos running toward me at full speed. He tried to stab me in my stomach, but because of Void, I dodged it.

Then the epic battle began. Our swords clashed and scraped each other. We tried to stab and block respectively. At the end, when we both were frantically breathing so hard that you could hear us from three yards away! Then Void shoved in fresh energy and raw power inside of me. I yelled, “For Void and Scalos!” and charged him and stabbed him in his heart, his weak spot. Void said with his voice surprised, “How did you do that?” “What do you mean, you made me do that right?” “No” was all he replied before vanishing away. Everybody came my way, congratulating me, “Wow, good job, awesome!” Then some random person yelled, “Let's make him king!” Everybody agreed to that idea and started chanting, “King Zenith! King Zenith! King Zenith! '' I said happily, “Why not?” The whole castle erupted in cheers and clapping.

Then the royal priests then came and made me pledge, “I swear loyalty to Scalos!”. I declared, “My first act as king will be to combine Xeno and Solsis to Xesos. My second act will be to renovate the old Soslis side to look like the old Xeno side. My third act will be to appoint Anna as my Sr. Advisor and Ceva and Beta be my royal advisors.” This time the cheers were loud enough to be heard from the other side of the planet.

Later the priests chanted, first in Greek, then in English, “All hail the King of Xesos, Slayer of Aeos, Master of Realms, the Quest saver, wielder of the Sword Of Void, Ruler of the Aeus and Xesos realm, King Zenith!”

I realized, “Bravery and loyalty always pays off. My bravery and skill is what got me here. I stayed loyal to all those who were loyal to me. Wow this stuff is strong!”
